whaaa.

um, i sent an application in to playfish (in london!) a few days ago...it would be awesome to hear back from them, even if they tell me thanks but no thanks. X3

i haven't really been up to much. working on some stuff for garternay; giles has me up to my eyeballs in rejected compass sketches... O_o; i hope we can come up with something good soon, otherwise i'm throwing in the towel on this one!

31 August 2009

oh duh! i totally forgot about all those awesome figure studies i did in D2 and FD1. those are mos def portfolio material! i'll just have to make a set up outside so i can take photos of them in natural light. they're a tad too big for my scanner...like...ten times too big for my scanner. >_>

i guess i should dedicate most of my days off this coming week to getting the rest of that stuff online.

sketchbooks

i really want to start working in a sketchbook again. i don't know how i fell out of such a lifelong habit...i used to go through practically a whole sketch pad every month or so from second grade all the way until my freshman year of college. i kept maybe about 4-6 decent sketchbooks in college (2d design and colour theory do NOT count), but i wish i had done more, because those are by far some of my favourite collections of works. maybe i'll scan some pages tomorrow after work...it would be nice to go through them again.

makes me sad though, because i just can't figure out where that spark has gone :(

LOCALS ONLY

man, i'm bored.
i've been scouring craigslist for austin and san antonio and all people are really looking for are tattoo artists and web designers. i am most definitely neither. people are always like OMGWTFBBQ U SHUD BE AN TATU ARTIST LOL but i just shake my head. i have too many wrist problems and my hand isn't nearly as steady as it used to be, or needs to be for that kind of work. besides...it's not really my style. yeah, i designed my own tattoos, but that doesn't mean i want to be a tattoo artist...
.-.

there's some good illustration prospects in washington state, and boston, but it's like LOCALS ONLY and then i crai! i don't quite have enough money to move out there yet...
*only has $100 in savings* damn art school cleaned me out.

i guess i'll keep looking for freelance work until a better career opportunity falls into my lap-- as, believe it or not, they tend to do (after a little prodding and searching).

OH. and, it was totally like 88 degrees at 1pm today...IT FELT SO GOOD OUTSIDE! it's amazing what a difference 20 degrees can make!! i love autumn...i just hope it's not back up to 94 when i leave for work tomorrow at 5am >_>
